Bad Weather Leads to Highway Accident

Posted on February 11th, 2010 No Comments

Bad weather conditions contributed to a two-vehicle accident which occurred early Wednesday morning along Illinois 57, state police report.

Strong gusts of wind, heavy snowfall, and ice on the road caused a southbound pickup truck to lose control and slide into a ditch, where a second vehicle smashed into it. No other details are known at this time, including whether the drivers needed medical attention.

According to a weather report from Greater Kankakee Airport, visibility was poor for much of the morning, which police believe probably contributed to the accident.
