Three vehicles involved in accident that sends four to hospital

An accident between two trucks and a car left four people injured. The accident occurred on Interstate 80 near Atkinson.

A box truck was traveling eastbound on the highway when it was struck by a passenger car in the rear. After the collision, the two vehicles were unable to move off of the roadway and a semi-truck tried to swerve in order to avoid an accident.

The truck went onto the median which caused it to flip over. Two people inside the semi and two from the car were extricated from their vehicles when emergency crews arrived. The four people were transported to the hospital, one remains there in critical condition.
