Peanut butter recall expands to include multiple nut spreads

Sunland Inc., a New Mexico-based food manufacturer, has expanded the peanut butter recall first announced last week.

The original recall included only the Trader Joe’s Valencia Creamy Peanut Butter, which was made in the contaminated plant, after nearly 35 people became ill due to consuming the defective product.

When it was discovered that many other products were made using the same contaminated equipment, Sunland expanded the product recall. Many stores nationwide are now pulling products such as cashew butter, tahini, and roasted peanuts off of the shelves.

If you or a loved one has consumed a defective food product and developed salmonella as a result, contact a Champaign injury lawyer of Spiros Law, P.C., today by calling 217-328-2828.
