Second pedestrian hit by Champaign bus driver
The same bus driver involved in a pedestrian accident in January 2014 recently hit another pedestrian in downtown Champaign, the News-Gazette reported on March 3.
The victim, 59-year-old Patricia Marxmiller, was struck by the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD) bus driven by Seth Stevens at the intersection of Logan and Walnut. She is being treated for injuries at Carle Foundation Hospital, although her family requested that the hospital not release updates about her condition.
The 2014 pedestrian accident involved Kimberly Swofford, 30, who was walking on a marked cross walk when she was hit by a Safe Rides van, MTD’s evening service. The victim, who is represented by personal injury attorney Sandra Loeb of Spiros Law, P.C., in the case against the Champaign-Urbana MTD, suffered a fractured wrist from the incident.
