One person was injured as a result of a semitrailer rollover accident that occurred on Illinois Route 1.
According to officials, the accident occurred as the driver of a semitrailer was traveling down the roadway and his truck veered off of the side of the road. In an effort to get the truck back on the road, he overcorrected the vehicle causing it to lose control and flip over.
The truck was hauling gasoline at the time, but it did not spill on the road, but crews came to move the gasoline to another truck. The highway was closed for 11 hours while crews cleaned up. The driver was transported to Riverside Medical Center and was also cited for improper lane usage.

Police are continuing to investigate a train accident that occurred Saturday night in Peotone.
According to the Peotone Police Department, the accident occurred at the Canadian National Railroad track at 10:30 p.m. The details of the fatal accident are unclear at this time, but a 16-year-old was pronounced dead as a result.
The freight line was en route to Memphis when the accident occurred and the service was stopped for over three hours while emergency crews cleared the scene and police investigated.

The coroner made a statement that the two victims were struck by a train on the BSNF Railway tracks around 8 a.m. The identities and ages of the male victims have not been released.
