Champaign fire damages buildings near University
A fire was reported at 8 a.m. last Wednesday at businesses near the University of Illinois Champaign campus.
It is unknown what caused the fire, but the roof did collapse at Zorba’s Restaurant. This building also houses another cafe, university offices, a clothing store and apartments.
The fire took over two hours to be contained and traffic was blocked in the area as fire crews worked. No injuries have been reported at this time.
