Illinois: Seven people ill due to contaminated ground turkey

Seven people have become ill in Illinois after it was found that there is a national outbreak of salmonella that officials may have tied to ground turkey.

Across the country, there have been 77 cases reported in 26 states. There has also  been one death due to the outbreak, but it was not in Illinois. According to a spokesperson in Illinois, the first case in Illinois was reported in March and the last was reported June 29.

Those who have become ill in Illinois range from a 3-year-old to a 60-year-old. No recall has been issued at this time because the source of the outbreak has not been found. Salmonella contamination can cause intestinal problems.

If you or a loved one has become ill after eating contaminated ground turkey or other food product, contact the Champaign food products and containers lawyers of Spiros Law, P.C., by calling (217) 328-2828.
