One man was injured after a truck accident occurred in Champaign County that ended with the man’s vehicle in a ditch.
According to the Champaign County sheriff’s office, the accident occurred Wednesday morning when law enforcement got a called just after 8:40. A passing motorist called to report that a truck was in a ditch at the intersection of county roads 200 E and 1100 N.
The truck was resting on its wheels in the ditch, which was estimated to be about 20 feet deep. There was about 3 feet of water in the ditch that was beginning to fill the floor of the truck. Emergency crews arrived at the scene in order to remove the 22-year-old driver from the truck.
The man was taken to Carle Hospital in order to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Officials do not know what caused the accident at this time.
