Two Champaign residents injured in head-on collision

Two Champaign residents were injured in a head-on collision that occurred Wednesday and caused a major roadway to be closed for nearly four hours.

The 27-year-old Champaign man is still currently recovering in Carle Foundation Hospital and officials believe that he will be charged with driving under the influence after his release. The accident occurred just after 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Willis and Bradley Avenues and remains under investigation at this time.

There were at least two witnesses to the accident and police have announced the man will most likely be ticketed for driving under the influence along with reckless driving, improper lane usage, disobeying a stop sign and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
