DUI Charges Filed after 3-Car Crash in Illinois

Richard H. Reinke, 58, has been issued multiple citations by the Frankfort Police Department on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and failing to reduce his speed to avoid an accident.

Reinke caused a 3-car accident on January 12, 2013. His blood alcohol content (BAC) was measured at 0.08% at the time police arrived. Reports say that police detected an odor of alcohol on Reinke’s breath and that his speech was “slurred.”

According to police reports, the individuals in the other vehicles were waiting at a red traffic light when Reinke pulled up behind them, failing to stop before hitting the other vehicles, causing the 3-car crash. No one suffered serious injuries and all three vehicles escaped significant physical damage.

Police report that Reinke failed sobriety tests on site and was then arrested. He will face charges of DUI and failure to stop to avoid an accident on February 1st.
