2 elderly Illinois women injured in single-vehicle accident

Two elderly women were injured after being involved in a rollover accident in Liberty Town around 10:47 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7.

62-year-old Martha A. Dwyer from Chicago, Ill., reportedly lost control of her car while driving southbound along Gore Hollow road. 67-year-old passenger Lea C. Beaubien from Morton Grove, Illinois, was also in the car with her.

The Vernon County Sheriff’s Department reported that both women were able to walk away from the vehicle, which had fallen into a ditch. However, both women, who were wearing seat belts, did suffer from undisclosed injuries and were taken to Vernon Memorial Healthcare in Viroqua by the Kickapoo Rescue Squad.

Authorities are still investigating the accident.
