Man injured during trust exercise sues company
An employee of the Addison fire safety company SimplexGrinnell filed a lawsuit in early July against Aurora-based consulting firm Guardian Quest, who executed a team building session for his company in August 2012, the Chicago Tribune reported on July 24.
According to the lawsuit filed by Antonio Gonzalez, the mandatory team building activity left him with permanent physical and emotional damage. Allegedly, the workshop’s organizers were negligent and did not properly supervise the trust exercises. During one exercise, in which Gonzalez was blindfolded, his co-workers had to lift him around strings in the air. During this activity, he fell onto his knees, and he had to have surgery as a result.
