New acting chairman on Illinois’ workers’ compensation board
Attorney Ronald Rascia was recently declared the new acting chairman of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, the Claims Journal reported on December 9.
The former chairman of the commission, Michael Latz, resigned from his post on November 30 due to reasons not publicized.
Rascia’s first position with the IWCC when he first came onboard in 2011 was as general counsel; later, he became the commission’s secretary on top of being its lawyer, which was his post before he took over the acting chairmanship.
Assistant Secretary Brendan O’Rourke will be filling in for his position as acting secretary.
