Governor Rauner assigns new workers’ comp arbitrator
Illinois Governor Bruce Vincent Rauner, during the second week of September, has appointed Lincoln resident Chris Hemenway as the new arbitrator for the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, a $115,840-a-year position.
Hemenway formerly had a job as a workers’ compensation claims lawyer for Bloomington-based insurance and financial services company Country Financial, where she handled catastrophic claims, employer liability, and coverage cases. She worked as a supervisor in the department wherein she started.
Hemenway got her start in the workers ’compensation field after years of working in the insurance industry. Hemenway has been practicing law for 30 years, 20 of those she served at Country Financial.
