Lorin A. Schluter, 59, of Armstrong was killed on Saturday, July 7th after a 2-vehicle crash. The crash took place at the intersection of 2500 N and 2500 E near Flatville in eastern Champaign County.
Authorities reported that Schluter was traveling west in a Pontiac Grand Prix when he ran a stop sign at the intersection. A Dodge Ram pickup truck traveling north, which did not have a stop sign, collided with Schluter’s vehicle on the driver’s side. Both vehicles crashed into a cornfield.
The driver and passenger in the pickup truck received non-life threatening injuries. Schluter was pronounced dead at the scene and identified later.
