Semi-truck Catches Fire In Crash
A semi-truck crash on interstate 74, between Champaign and Danville, resulted in the death of one driver. Thursday afternoon, a semi-truck was traveling westbound when it failed to slow for a traffic backup and collided with another semi-truck. When the two semi-truck collided, one became engulfed in flames.
Police reported that this collision of the two semi-trucks occurred shortly after an initial collision on the same stretch of I-74. According to police, a semi-truck slowed down for a traffic backup caused by the construction zone and a van failed to slow down and it hit the rear of the semi-truck. As a result of the crash, the van became disabled in the right lane and the driver of the van was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The Semi driver, in the first collision, was uninjured.
