Motorcycle Crash Leaves Two Injured
A motorcycle and vehicle collision in Mahomet on March 30th has left two injured persons: the driver and passenger of the motorcycle. The collision occurred when the motorcycle illegally attempted to pass the vehicle at an intersection.
According to Illinois State Police, the collision occurred on U.S. 150 at Champaign County Road 125 E, west of Mahomet around 7:08 p.m. The driver of the motorcycle, a Bloomington resident, was heading west on U.S. 150. The driver in the motor vehicle, a Mahomet resident, was driving shortly in front of him,
As the driver of the car was turning his vehicle left onto 125 E, the motorcycle tried to pass him, causing the collision. Once the motorcycle and vehicle collided, both the cyclist and his passenger, a Mansfield resident, were thrown off the motorcycle and taken to a hospital to treat their non-life-threatening injuries.
