Douglas County Motorcycle Crash

A couple from Virden was involved in a motorcycle crash involving a pickup truck in Douglas County. The couple was traveling on their motorcycle,  headed east on U.S. 36 about 3 miles west of Tuscola, and crashed into the rear of a pickup truck that was driving ahead of them. Both motorcycle passengers were seriously injured. A release from Illinois State Police stated that at 11:32 a.m., the couple crashed into the rear of a pickup truck for an unknown reason. The truck was stopped at a stop sign at County Road 610 East at the time of the collision. The passenger of the motorcycle was airlifted to Carle Hospital, where she remained in serious condition Saturday. The driver of the motorcycle was taken by ambulance to Carle and was listed in critical condition Saturday. The driver of the pickup reported no injuries. Police issued a ticket for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident to the driver of the motorcycle.
