Accident West of St. Joseph

An accident was reported just west of St. Joseph that involved two vehicles rolling over. The Illinois State Police were investigating and stated that a witness to the crash notified them of the collision that included three women in one vehicle, a van, and one man in another, a sport utility vehicle. According to a relative tot he three women traveling together in the van, they were headed east when the SUV apparently struck them from behind. This caused both vehicles to roll over, ultimately coming to a stop on the south side of U.S. 150.

After both vehicles came to a stop, the driver of the SUV was able to exit his vehicle and was found walking around the scene after the collision, seemingly uninjured. Both the driver of the van and the front seat passenger were initially trapped inside their vehicle and had to be cut out by St. Joseph-Stanton firefighters. The back seat passenger of the van was able to exit and was found outside the van when first responders arrived She was reportedly injured at the scene. All three women in the van were taken to Carle Foundation Hospital. The driver was treated and released and the other two women were reportedly still there into the evening.
