Patel’s van then went off the road and into the ditch, it then overcorrected and drove back across both lanes of the highway, causing it to hit another minivan driven by Monrita M. After hitting the second minivan, Patel’s van drove went off the road on the right side and traveled about 100 feet before ultimately hitting a tree. Both Keilhorn’s SUV and Bernard’s minivan remained on the road and were able to pull over after the crash. As a result of the crash, Patel was given a ticket for improper lane usage.

There were three three adult passengers in Patel’s van, one of which was taken to the hospital and two of the six passengers in Bernard’s van were taken to an area hospital, all for non-life-threatening injuries.
