Miranda Soucie Recipient of the ISBA Young Lawyer of The Year Award

Spiros Law is full of talented attorneys that are there for you every step of the way. Today we are here to celebrate one attorney in particular. Her hard work and dedication to her clients has proven her to be one of the best. On Thursday, July 11th Miranda Soucie received recognition for being the recipient of the 2018-2019 Illinois State Board Association Young Lawyer of the Year Award- Outside Cook County. Her numerous peer nominations and significant contributions to the field, which were all reviewed by a committee, allowed her to stand out and ultimately receive this prestigious award. Each year, the ISBA presents the Young Lawyer of The Year Award to two outstanding lawyers in the state of Illinois. These lawyers must be in good standing within their practice and the ISBA, and must be younger than 36 years old.

Miranda is known for representing plaintiffs’ in serious personal injury cases. Her work includes, but is not limited to, cases dealing with automobile accidents, trucking accidents, birth injuries, defective medical devices, and wrongful death. She is licensed to practice law in both Florida and Illinois. She is a passionate, hard-working, fierce attorney that will fight for her clients deserved justice no matter the severity of the case. Along with this award, Miranda has been named by Chicago Daily Law Bulletin as Leading Lawyer in the state of Illinois in both 2018 and 2019 and she has also been recognized as a Rising Star, every year since 2015, by Super Lawyer.

The Illinois State Bar Association, who has presented Miranda with her most recent award, was founded in 1877 and established itself as the premier legal association in the state of Illinois. It is a private, nonprofit organization. The foundation serves as the charitable and educational branch of the ISBA. The association provides professional services to lawyers licensed in the state of Illinois as well as educates and serves the general public. This voluntary association is comprised of approximately 28,000 members. The ISBA focuses on aiding lawyers in the state of Illinois practice law; helping to call attention to improvements and accomplishments.

Not only does the Illinois State Bar Association provide professional opportunities to its lawyers, but the association also reaches out and does volunteer work in Illinois communities.  When assessing the nominees for awards, committee members often look for community involvement which is a big part of Miranda’s life. Miranda has distinguished herself with her devotion to serving her community. Miranda has helped foster an environment of giving back at Spiros Law. The Spiros Law team regularly works with Meals on Wheels, Adopt a Highway, the Eastern Illinois Foodbank, and the Danville Ambucs Challenger Baseball League. Outside of the office, Miranda volunteers with the local Copper Creek Presbyterian Church through their Meet Malawi program. Through this program, she travels to Malawi, Africa where she works to help local women engage their community and improve living conditions through water and educational programming.
