Two-vehicle crash leaves none injured

According to Champaign County Sheriff’s deputies, a two-vehicle collision in eastern Champaign County last Friday resulted in two damaged cars but no serious injuries.

The accident occurred around 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of county roads 1450 N (Homer Lake Road) and 2200 E (Sidney Slab).

A car driven by a 75-year-old St. Joseph man was stopped at a stop sign on 1450 N. When he pulled into the intersection, he was struck by a Taylorville driver heading north in his pickup truck.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Neither of the drivers were injured, but the 75-year-old man’s wife, who was riding passenger, complained of chest pains and was taken to an area hospital.

Police ticketed the 75-year-old man with failure to yield.
