Springfield woman arrested in 4 vehicle wreck

A four-vehicle collision that occurred along 11th and Jefferson Streets led to the arrest of  a Springfield woman last Thursday afternoon.

Springfield police reports indicate that 36-year-old Lakisha Green, who was one of the four drivers involved in the incident, was charged for driving with a suspended license and cited for not reducing speed. She was arrested by the Springfield police after a warrant for her arrest was issued for not appearing in court.

Records show that Green was heading north in her sport-utility vehicle when she began talking to a passenger, causing her to be distracted and veer into the left lane. As a result, she hit the pickup truck in front of her, which was driven by 54-year-old Cynthia Haynes. Haynes, in turn, hit a car driven by 57-year-old James Shaw, who then hit the 4th car, driven by 40-year-old Candice Kern.

Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in this accident. However, many people suffer serious physical, emotional, and financial losses after accidents, such as the one Green caused.
